Meet the Adorable Trio at Project Paws
At Project Paws Dog Rescue, there are three incredible dogs looking for their forever homes. Each has a unique personality and story that makes them special. Allow me to introduce Bella, Zarrah, and Leilani.
Bella: The Wise and Wily Senior
Bella is a charming 9 year old Chihuahua lady with a personality as rich as her years. She may be a bit territorial at the door, but ignoring her while she adjusts is the best strategy.
Her internal clock is impeccable; she knows exactly when it’s 5 pm and time for dinner!
Bella has a bite history, so she needs a home with an experienced owner who understands her boundaries. However, in the time her foster parents have had her, she has made lots of progress and enjoys snuggling up to her foster Dad. Despite her quirks, Bella travels well in a crate and sleeps peacefully through the night.
Bella’s dietary preferences are unique – she loves blueberries and carrots as treats! And her iron stomach can handle pretty much anything. She’s also trained to pee in a litter box, which is quite a remarkable trait for a dog! While she can be a bit wild on a leash, she’s well-behaved at home and doesn’t destroy items. With the right understanding and care, Bella will find her forever home.
Zarrah: The Goofy and Chill Husky Mix
Zarrah is a Northern Ontario dog, coming from the remote town of Attawapiskat. She is approximately 2 years old, is a delightful husky mix with a goofy and talkative nature. She has a slight tendency to be possessive over high-value treats (think meaty bone) but is otherwise incredibly chill.
Zarrah enjoys her daily visits to the Bark Park, where she has plenty of doggie friends. While she doesn’t do well with cats, and has a penchant for chasing small animals, she’s great with kids and isn’t bothered by quick movements or loud sounds.
Zarrah loves scratches on her side and belly. She’s a good walker on a leash and happily roams the house when left alone. Zarrah sleeps anywhere she pleases at night and in true husky fashion, adores the cold and snow. Her way of asking to be let in is by tapping on the door – no barking involved!
Zarrah is a fun-loving, relaxed dog who would fit perfectly into an active family that can keep up with her playful spirit.
Leilani: The Sweet and Sensitive Soul
Leilani, a 3 year old husky mix, is a face-kissing sweetheart with a few quirks. She can be reactive to other dogs but does well with slow introductions. Resource guarding is something to be mindful of, and she has some nervousness around small children, however, is excellent with grooming tasks like teeth brushing and baths. She has an alert bark at the door but is otherwise quiet.
Leilani loves nudging people for attention and sometimes puts her front paws up to get closer. She is playful and full of energy and would make a great hiking or agility partner. With her endearing nature and a bit of patience, Leilani will make a loving and loyal companion.
