6 Reasons Pet Parents are Hesitant to Book a Dog Photography Session

I can practically see those adorable furballs of yours already, wiggling with excitement and ready to strike a pose. But I totally understand that booking a dog photography session can feel like venturing into uncharted territory. Let’s dive into to some of the reasons that might be giving you “paws” (see what I did there)!

01

Turbo-charged Zoomies

Let's be real, some dogs have more energy than a squirrel on caffeine. They fly around like furry hurricanes with tails. They want to sniff EVERYTHING, chase small animals, bark at passersby, and just let off steam. That’s just normal dog behaviour. Why fight the wiggles when you can embrace them? Your pup's energy is a goldmine of adorable action shots waiting to happen. I can turn that energy into a fun-filled, candid moment that showcases your furry friend’s true character.

02

Camera-Shy Canine

Have you ever noticed how your dog becomes the master of disappearing acts as soon as you grab your phone? It's like they have a sixth sense for dodging the lens. Maybe they think the camera is a portal to an alternate treat-less dimension. Or maybe, they can’t stand you shoving a foreign object in their face. Who can blame them? Fear not! I have tricks up my sleeve and treats in my pockets. It is amazing what dogs will do for a super stinky piece of dried liver. And they don’t even notice that it is strategically placed just on the edge of my lens.

03

Locked on Leash

Leashes aren’t roadblocks, they are pathways to safety. Safety is always priority number 1! Post-production magic is a thing, and I can use it to make leashes disappear – virtually, that is! With a little digital wizardry, I can create the illusion of leash-free freedom while keeping your pup safe throughout the photoshoot. You will never even know it was there. In fact, sometimes being on the leash is preferred as it helps to wrangle puppy into position.

04

Furry and Fearful

Not every dog wants to strut their stuff like a runway model. Some prefer a quiet corner with a cozy blanket and their favourite human. Canine behaviour is complex – a place where every tail wag, bark, and ear twitch tells a story. My background in dog training brings an extra layer of understanding to the table. I have also devoured more doggy books than a pup at a biscuit buffet. Those tens of thousands of pages of knowledge and insight into canine psychology have shaped my approach to working with dogs of all temperaments, from exuberant to cautious to a little Cujo-esque! I am confident that I have the skills necessary to create an environment where your furry family member feels safe and comfortable. And one thing I will NEVER do, is push them. It’s important to know when to quit. There is always a Plan B.

But....if I had a quarter for every time an owner said to me, “WOW! He’s never let a stranger pet him before!”, I would be rolling in coins.

05

The Price Tag Predicament

A dog photography session is more than just a transaction. It’s an investment in memories, that will forever be preserved through images.  They will become a portal through time, transporting you back to the days when your pup was by your side and brought light and happiness into your life.

Of course, budget concerns are real, and investing in a dog photography session might feel like buying a solid gold chew toy but remember that these images are priceless. And I can guarantee that years from now, you won’t even remember how much you spent. I also provide flexible payment options that allow you to pay it off over time with interest-free payments.

06

Seize the Moment

As pet parents, we never want to imagine losing our furry friend before they have lived a long and healthy life, but you never know when your time with them will be over. Time flies, and our pups age much faster than we would like. It is a reminder to make every moment count, so why not freeze those moments forever! I have heard from countless people that they wish they had professional photos of their dog.

So there you have it, folks! Don’t let these concerns hold you back. The goal isn’t to create picture-perfect models; it's about embracing the joyful chaos that comes with having a four-legged family member.  Let's make memories that will have tails wagging for years to come!

Now that you know……let’s do this!!!
